Ramson Badbones turns your brain inside out and envelops you in a collection of twisted images and third-eye-strobing sounds in his latest release; Hypnodic.

Taking you through all the rotten back-stage scenes of the UK's less than presentable places of living, Ramson Badbones delivers his message through bars overflowing with rhymes, structured over a complex frame of loud, spaced out, striking words, and intricate chopped up sentences that will get a crowd bouncing by the second kick! Ramson Badbonez pulls in a stash of experiences and elements to construct a consciousness for the audience to sail through. An intro to set up the general feel has audience members thinking they're prepared when the second track; Hypnodic, serves as the event horizon to draw them into a world that pulls the rug out from under every understanding they have on life.

Every track presents a different set of scenes and experiences and plays as a form of psycho-analysis on all those involved, as individuals and a group. Complicated bars stream through this musical hurricane, packing each track with enough detail to guarantee you won't get everything out of them in one sitting (it's taken at least twenty playthroughs just to write this review). From the most distant external stimulus to the deepest internal reactions to such, this album very much takes listeners on a trip through the mysteries and unpredictability of both the individual, and collective minds of this strange world we all find ourselves in. Songs flow into one another with ambient sounds to serve as break from the heavy beats and vocal activity for your mind to clear and reflect on the past experience, before blasting you from your seat into yet another up-is-down, left-is-right frame of mind!

Production is brought to you by DJ Fingerfood, in a unique string of incredibly heavy drum loops separated by liquid, ambient soundscapes and dreamy melodies that, as previously mentioned, allow the song that just played to clear out and make way for the next tsunami of drums and vocal samples. The mix brings a great juxtaposition that keeps listeners attentive and eager to unravel the mysteries of the world presented to them. Each song serves as a tailored stage for Badbonez's subject matter, and each featuring artist to bring their own spin on astral planing bars, without drifting from the core theme of the album. I doubt DJ Fingerfood ever stopped thinking about the album as a whole as he crafted each instrumental - it is truly unique in the way it is structured to roll the wide variance of lyrical subjects into a single, exhilarating, mind-opening experience.

Unlike the usual collection of tracks on a compact disc, Hypnodic is an album best served whole - the album itself is as much a delicately assembled work of art as the individual tracks that form it. And, on a whole, it delivers an experience set aside from all others in UK Hip Hop today. Whatever niche you may belong to in this underground scene, Hypnodic is bound to have something you will take away from it personally.

Join the UK on it's collective trip by grabbing a copy of Ramson Badbonez' Hypnodic on the 16th of June 2017 from High Focus Records!
